Two storage systems at the FS.COM centre in Germany

05 Aug 2019

FS.COM, one of the leading communication systems integrators and optical solutions providers, asked Mecalux to install a storage and conveyor system in their warehouse in Neufahrn bei Freising, (Germany). The combination of different storage elements enables the storage and retrieval of a multitude of different product categories, while the conveyor system optimises the picking process.

Pallet racks and carton flow racks in the new FS.COM warehouse

The storage system of FS.COM consists of 8 rows of pallet racks and live storage for picking that are based on three different modules. An optimised arrangement of the live storage for picking enables warehouse operations based on the FIFO principle. The conveyor system consists of three lines of roller conveyors and reduces picking times to a minimum.

Without the need for a complex, fully-automated system, Mecalux has created a holistic solution for the new European central warehouse of FS.COM.

Andreas Kloo – German Branch Manager FS.COM
“After the opening of our new European branch, we achieved very positive sales figures. In response to these numbers, our company FS.COM decided to partially automate our storage and packaging processes. The goal was to gain the capacity needed to process the highly increased order volume. The solution provided by Mecalux was integrated into our existing storage infrastructure easily.”
