Mecalux, CeMAT focus on South American expansion

18 Feb 2011

Mecalux will exhibit at CeMAT South America from April 4-7 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This will be the first time since the event’s inception 29 years ago that the international material handling fair has been conducted in South America. Originally designed as a platform for exhibitors to brandish their new products, solutions and services, the event has also become a meeting ground for professionals to inspire one another and make valuable connections in the industry.

Mecalux will fill two adjacent booths occupying a combined 116 square meters of floor space in the luxurious Centro de Exposiçöes Imigrantes. This year the company’s focus will be showcasing its efficient warehouse solutions to this growing South American sector. Recently, the area was identified as an area rife with potential for economic viability. Geographical diversification is a strong asset for the company to sustain growth beyond the current global economic climate.

More than a quarter of Mecalux’s total turnover is projected to come from South America in 2011. The company has two production centers stationed there: one in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and one in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
